Hello again,
(Mind the very casual outfit, I don't have many photos of just me so this is what we're going with for now)
My name's Norman, I'm 23 and I'm an aspiring Software Developer & UX/UI Designer from south-east London. Despite being someone who tends to be overly-critical when judging the interface of an application or website (I can barely hit the "Publish" button for this portfolio), I only discovered my want to design interfaces when doing a 2nd year module during my time at Lancaster University titled "Human Computer Interaction".
It satisfied my need to create whilst opening my eyes to the world of UX/UI design and research - the emphasis on the "who" and the "why". Without the detailed and careful identification of who the software is for and what their needs are, the project can lose it's way and not provide the solutions to the problems the user has which sounds obvious enough, but is easily forgotten when you've been a passive consumer for your whole life.

One thing I really enjoy about UX and UI Design is that both jobs are essentially customer service. The user is always right. User centered design is the art of problem solving and finding solutions which should naturally be at the heart of the development of any website/web application/mobile application.
Let's get more personal...
When I haven't got an editor open in front of me (whether that be a website or code editor), I'm probably scrolling through Twitter seeing if Chelsea have signed anyone (yes, massive football fan), creating football video edits or anime edits using various video editing software. Or you might catch me taking long walks along the Thames and just generally finding an excuse to not be in my house as I'm quite a social person and don't like being indoors for too long. I feel when you spend so much of your time in-front of a screen, the outdoors becomes your best friend very quickly.
